Fall Wine Tasting in NY

Fall Wine Tasting in the NY Vineyards

With fall foliage almost at its peak, now may be the time to plan your next NY winery excursion or weekend gateway.

Closest to Westchester and Putnam is the acclaimed Millbrook Winery in the Hudson Valley, perfect for a day visit. Bring a picnic basket and your (leashed) dog or enjoy weekend food trucks through the fall.   For wine tastings, walk-ins are accepted on a first come first serve basis but reservations are suggested.

In the Finger Lakes, you can picnic and taste award-winning wines at Keuka Spring Vineyard, a 30-acre family vineyard, overlooking beautiful Keuka Lake and J.R. Dill Winery, another high-quality small family vineyard that only uses local fruit and a perfect place to spend time and taste delicious wines.

If you can’t make it to Millbrook and the Finger Lakes, luckily you can visit our wine shop at wines2door.com and we’ll deliver some of these great wines to your door.

Our NY Vineyard Favorites

Millbrook Chardonnay: (Hudson Valley, NY)

Aromas of clementine, tangerine, custard and toasted almond highlight well-balanced fruit and acid levels. The soft, silky flavors have a nice minerality with notes of Honeycrisp apple and caramel that linger on the round finish. For sipping or light fare.

Keuka Spring Vineyard Riesling: (Finger Lakes, NY)

A delectable, “off-dry”, refreshing Riesling with wonderful fruit. Tangerine on the nose leads to juicy citrus and clear, refreshing lime character. The clean finish will leave you with a hint of apricot and lime rind. A premium example of Finger Lakes Riesling. Enjoy it with grilled chicken, salmon, crab, cream soups, gouda or cheddar cheese, Caesar salad, or just about anything!

J.R. Dill Winery Dry Riesling: (Finger Lakes, NY)

Delicate blossom and fresh apple notes are pretty on the nose. The palate is a bit bracing by comparison, offering tart lemon-lime flavors and a touch of earthiness on the finish. A nice sipper or Asian food match.
