Description

Nothing screams festive more than Champagne; Laurent Lequart is a small grower Champagne producer which organically farms 10 hectares in the village of Passy Grigny where Pinot Meunier shines. A nose of zesty citrus, floral aromas and juicy white fruit jump out of the glass. It is crisply refreshing, with wonderful red fruit tones and bright pops of citrus. Just delicious for a toast!

Mossback Cabernet sauvignon Coming from the famous Chalk hill district of Sonoma, this is a big, rustic, muscular wine. A brooding ruby red, this California classic brings aromas of blackberry, cassis and leather. Flavors of dark cherries and toasty oak combine with seamless, ample tannins that take a full ride across the palate. Bold yet velvety, rich with a grip, Mossback Cabernet Sauvignon will age gracefully for several years. Enjoy with grilled red meat.

Ridgeback Safari The “Safari” is the flagship of the Ridgeback winery, made in very small quantities. A blend of 36% cabernet franc, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, and 10% Petit Verdot, it is very inviting, warm, with lingering aromas of chocolate, dark fruits and blackberry on the nose; the palate is smooth and forceful yet elegant with fine-grained tannins and multilayered flavors. Drinks so well right now, especially with duck or venison.

Clos Noly Pouilly-Fuisse is one of the greatest white of Southern Burgundy; it is named after the oldest vineyard at Domaine Manciat-Poncet. Aromas of apple and orange blossoms give way to a lively mouth full of crisp orchard fruits and a honeycomb-like texture and flavor. Absolutely stunning! quite a punchy, enticing bouquet with Golden Delicious, orange pith and slight waxy scents… The palate is fresh and vibrant with Clementine, white pepper and a tang of ginger that becomes quite pronounced with continued aeration. Lobster anyone?

Exclusively bottled for Wines2door customers, Domaine Gaudron Vouvray “Clos Franc” is a special cuvèe of old vine Chenin blanc coming from a parcel of several-meter deep clay-limestone soil resting on tuffeau, the chalky rock that gives the best Vouvrays their peculiar characteristics. Lots of rich, earthy yellow fruit with accents of pear, quince and a light mineral-honey quality; filling with a fresh texture and beautiful balance; this broad wine will reward up to 5-8 years of aging if you can resist!

For your uncomplicated gathering, there is Prosecco, and the Maresima is one of the very best. Farmed organically and hand-picked, which is very unusual for Prosecco production, now in its heyday, but the family refuses to compromise on quality. This is mouthwatering and fresh, vivid, straight to the point with classy refinement. Let the party begin…
